FS Raiders RFC was founded in 2016 with the vision of utilizing our collective rugby knowledge and technical development skills to establish a Women’s rugby team that will be trained along the right lines to conquer Africa and the world.
A hallmark of FS Raiders approach is the experience, understanding and knowledge of all facets of modern rugby and how to develop the girl child to become a world beater in a world that is dominated by men. FS Raiders exciting brand of rugby has helped to shake off the stereo type that women’s game is boring.
FS RAIDERS
Using the combined talents of the founding directors of the club including an international network, assembling rugby experts and managing young talent is a unique skill that has enabled FS Raiders to successfully establish itself as one of the best rugby clubs with a trophy laden cabinet and in the process providing the bulk of the players to the various national teams.
The squad boasts a wealth of talent ranging from international stars that have represented Zimbabwe, age-range internationals, through to a development squad of talented individuals from across Zimbabwe.
FS Raiders Rugby Club being the top women’s rugby club in the country in both performance and emancipation of the girl child. The Raiders women with an age average of 21, are a beacon of excellence and to date undefeated on home ground.
The club was established in 2016 to mend the gap of the absence of an elite women’s rugby team in Zimbabwe. Our goal is to provide opportunities for the girl child to better themselves socially, morally and professionally through sport by giving them the same exposure given to men in the sport of rugby. F.S Raiders Women’s team is open to women and girls from all walks of life with or without a rugby background. It aims to curb drug abuse, dropping out of school, early marriages and unwanted pregnancy by creating a safe haven for girls to talk about their problems while keeping them fit, healthy and preoccupied by sport. Raiders Women also strives to help nurture and develop the wealth of rugby talent across Harare through strong partnerships with various stakeholders.
